Frances Goodman (b. 1975, Johannesburg) is a South African contemporary artist known for her mixed-media works exploring femininity, beauty standards, and societal pressures. She studied at Goldsmiths College, University of London, and later at the Higher Institute for Fine Art in Antwerp. Her art incorporates unconventional materials like acrylic nails, false eyelashes, and sequins to critique media-driven expectations placed on women. Goodman has exhibited internationally, with notable solo shows in Paris, Johannesburg, and Copenhagen, and has participated in major group exhibitions, including at the Smithsonian. She continues to challenge traditional narratives of femininity through her work.
