Marie-Louise Koen is a self-taught South African artist and interior designer based between Cape Town and New York City. Originally studying construction management at the University of Cape Town, she later transitioned into interior design and art. Her debut collection, Faces of a Woman (2017), focused on female portraits and themes of feminism and gender equality. In 2021, she explored seascapes with Been Dreaming of the Med, inspired by Italy’s Amalfi Coast and her Maltese heritage. Koen continues to create thought-provoking art while working as an interior designer in New York.
